agreed, it def felt that way to me too. they would've been better off as just friends. still it's nice to read bls that include persons w disabilities
They did address it briefly. He admits that essentially because of his disability he was hung up in the idea of grasping a normal life like everyone else and that he felt he needed to prove he could still do those things (a good job, marriage, etc) to prove himself in spite of his disability. But when he starts to look at the real world around him, he realizes ideals about the future aren’t boxes to fit himself into and that rather than fitting an preconceived idea of success he should focus on the things right in front of him that are real and already within his grasp. That a “normal” life wouldn’t erase his disability or make him feel more capable. Because on the other hand, now he’s not just disabled but also wanting to date a man in a country where he can’t get married to a boyfriend.
It wasn’t addressed well and the pacing was off and the emotions weren’t really explored. But there was mention of it.

It didn't feel like black hair guy even actually fell in love with blone but instead was scared of being alone and knowing other women wouldn't settle for him, he himself settled for bloned??
art is cute but story is pretty meh for me, reality but still a meh...
