Idk why I keep expecting nuance from this author. They have so much to work with and tap into/explore further but do nothing of substance with it. Instead of it being fleshed out they bring up these topics as a part of some big climax only to be dismissed in a arbitrary way once its served its purpose of bringing the main couple together. And I know that this author isn't exactly know for delving to deep into its characters but its even more noticeable now that author only wants to keep this story surface level. It feels like they are going through a check list just to meet the end goal and move on to the next story. Its a shame
