I actually like that they don't get along? The story itself would be meh if the ogFL was just nice and it wouldn't stand out. With her background, Fleur makes sense as a protagonist. I sympathize with her. Even now I still do. She's an ambitious woman who wants more for herself. A queen.
We're seeing everything from the FL's pov and the misunderstandings are too many rn to resolve. They're just never going to get along. And that's ok. I agree that a nice enemies to begrudging allies would be great since FL doesn't like the CP, but it doesn't feel like the story is purposefully making the OGFL a white lotus for plot yet.
True. Honestly I’ve read a lot where the original and new fl get along eventually or immediately in the beginning.
However, it might be a personal feeling but I think the two fl not getting along suits this story a lot better. Like Ophelia mentioned before, the original female lead is a very determined woman—not matter how humiliated she was she was persistent ! The same thing could be said about the new female lead; she’s determined to live away from the story & is stopping at nothing (even reciprocating ml fondness) to achieve it.
They don’t seem to hit it off because, even if they have different reasons, at the end of the day it’s either one or the other. If the OG wins, the new fl would have to meet her demise along with her husband. If the new fl wins, the OG would have be back to square one and live off whatever she’ll receive from divorce.
Perhaps at the end of the day I’m wrong and they’ll eventually become friends; but as of right now, these two worlds can’t collide!
I agree that they shouldn't get along, but IMO the story is painting it as though OGFL is "evil" and that's very boring to me, especially since I've seen that dynamic play out at LEAST four times in other stories, and it's getting a bit tough in my opinion. at a certain point it just feels like they're telling the original stories that the isekai are sort of "inverting" with extra steps if that make sense?

im at ch 29 and so sad :,3 i wish these stories would let the female characters get along. why is the story acting like Fleur's a bitch for gettingg defensive when her abuser starts going after her man?? Like?? she's completely in the right (thus far) and Ophelia/ MC doesn't even really want the prince so she's also being manipulative. ugh these kinds of stories would be sm better if the female characters could have enemies to friends arcs :,3
