He kinda giving ADHD vibes, I also often forget important stuff, get easy distracted, forget people faces if I didn't see them long enough and more than once or twice, but that doesn't mean it's easy to get over sad stuff, on the contrary because of anxiety (often developed because people tend to criticize our normal behavior ) it's more probable for people with ADHD to be more sensitive when meet with rejection or dismission of our special interests
Nia is a goldfish plus he is being brainwashed by the gardener and other workers about how worthless he is.. poor goldfish brain can't process that. Its annoying but yes its his body constituition and toxic surroundings
