Watching Sol Suffer Is Exhausting

Night February 15, 2026 9:50 pm

All I want is peace for Sol. ...That’s it...

He has suffered more than enough...

I don’t even care anymore whether he ends up with Ian or not—I just want him to rest and finally be happy...

He endured Brian’s selfishness in the past, and now he’s stuck suffering because of Ian, who at this point seems to have completely lost his brain...

I genuinely loved Ian at the beginning..
He had depth and potential. ...

But this season completely ruined him for me. .
He feels useless, frustrating, and emotionally immature...

And Sol is the one paying the price... Again.

Even in the finale of S3, it felt like the author was desperately trying to make Ian look cool, redeemable, or worthy—but for me, it didn’t work at all..
It felt forced.

The pacing has been dragged out so much that the story became exhausting and boring instead of emotional....

And why are there so many scenes with that yellow bastard? In this season
Are we seriously supposed to see him as a love interest after everything he’s done? That’s not romantic... That’s disgusting...

Honestly, if it weren’t for Sol, I would have dropped this story a long time ago... I need to see him happy ,When he cried, I hated everyone

You are so real for the whole Ian becoming immature take. I mean, he was always kind of immature, but he also managed to be stoic at the same time which was why I thought season 1 was so peak, and Ian was such a well written character.

Season 2 was buns. Brian was such a lame character.

In season 3, Ian lost all of that stoicism and became super irritatingly immature. Honestly, every character, including Ian, Sol and Cardinal Brixton, lost most of their character in S3 and it's sad to think of what this series once was compared to how it is going.

Genuinely, they made Sol a blank slate in both S2 and S3 and it stinks of poo.

The art style also kind of contributes to the loss of character. The new art style is objectively an upgrade when it comes to line art as compared to what it once was, but I feel as if the new style doesnt allow for the characters to convey their emotions well through their facial expressions at all. Still a pretty style, just doesnt fit emotional stories like this one.

Mb for the rant, I'm just really disappointed with how this series is going, coming from someone who has been here since the very first advertisement one shot was released.

    I completely agree...
Sometimes making a story too long isn’t a good thing.

In fact, it can end up damaging everything the author carefully built at the beginning. ...

Season 2 was extremely long—so long that it could almost stand as a separate story on its own. .

Of course, the past may have been necessary for the plot, but it definitely should have been more concise..

That’s where the story started losing points for me.

And like you said, Season 3 was very disappointing. The characters began to feel hollow, as if they had lost the depth they once had.

Ian… my God. it’s hard to even look at him. .
His actions are frustratingly stupid and often unbearable...

As for Sol, I honestly don’t understand why he was even here ..All he seems to do is endure Ian’s behavior and suffer through it without any real agency of his own...

And that yellow bastard… he just does whatever he wants, and suddenly the story feels like it has turned into a ridiculous love triangle... Because of Ian’s constant ignorance of that man’s very obvious intentions, he keeps asking things like “Why is he doing this?” or “Why would he do that?” It’s honestly exhausting to watch...

And you’re right about the art style as well. ..
Maybe there have been improvements in some technical aspects, but overall it feels strange now. Something about it feels off...
Especially the lips—they look oddly lifeless, almost as if the characters themselves are drained of life...

And since, like you, I’ve been following this story from the very beginning—years ago—I can honestly say that only the first part truly felt strong...

Now, unfortunately, all it leaves me with is frustration.

YOU'RE RIGHT, IT IS THE LIPS! Anyways, I completely agree with you. Everything is going downhill, and I was so disappointed that I even unfollowed the author on twitter.

However, all hope isn't lost yet. There's one more season to fix it all, but I think I'll see a unicorn before this whole piece of work doesn't feel like a chore to read.
