bc gojo is satisfied being dead. well, not satisfied, but sort of. he had this airport talk and all with his dead mates. and no sorcerer dies without regret, but in the end, they accept their fate. if gojo did come back and defeated sukuna, the story would be kind of boring. he was set up to lose, to die, from the start only. a man who's the strongest?!?! yeah babe you dying, i know that. his story ends there, bc that's all there is to his life, living as a weapon, and losing whenever he shows his human side. but he's happy when he shows his human side, even for a moment. he feels the emotions, he can't throw away his emotions now can he? him coming back, I feel, would be him rejecting his human side, and accepting his fate as a weapon (which literally everyone in jjk world considered him to be, with few exceptions like geto), so even if he came back, fought and won. he would have proved that in the end, he is indeed a weapon. how sad would that be, a life where you are not considered a human and live, just as a weapon, win just as a weapon. you're the same as some really sharp sword. no human-ness involved. in his death, he became human. to be human is to be mortal. all mortals die. weapons don't. weapons are used, praised, and after the war is won, discarded or kept safe until someone wants to use them again. when he died, he rejected being used. he died for himself, as himself. as satoru gojo, not the strongest. he was finally free from the "the strongest" tag, and became what he always wished people could've seen him as, satoru gojo.
rip my glorious blue eyed king, satoru gojo. you'll always be remembered. you were iconic, truly.
