I feel like I’m over explaining myself because at the end of the day, it’s just a story. But no matter how many times I reread it, the bottom is still the victim to me. He’ll always be the one and only victim, at least in my eyes. The fact that he’s literally chased the bus proves it. The idea that the bottom is “using” the top doesn’t add up to me. The top clearly wants to be used. He runs like a puppy whenever he’s called. And now that he’s “had enough,” he’s able to leave and he does. He allows it to happen. That’s why I don’t see the bottom as some manipulative mastermind taking advantage. If anything, I feel like the top took advantage of the situation. He knows the bottom needs his delicious juice lol, yet instead of saying no, he finds ways to spend even more time with him. If he truly hated being “used,” he could have stopped it. If the whole cum transaction was on his terms he wouldn't be riding the bus he would be riding the bottom but missionary style and happily too. The bottom doesn’t have that same freedom. Some people argue that he does, but the environment he’s in makes that choice almost impossible. Yes, he could technically get help. But he’s human. He found an immediate solution that works instantly without forcing him to confront the deeper issues like accepting that he’s an omega, accepting that he might not be as strong as alphas in judo, and accepting that all the years he worked so hard in judo was futile. That’s not talked about enough. I’ve read omegaverse and BL for a long time like I mean a longggg time and I personally haven't seen a physically strong omega like him. Most omegas are described as fragile or weaker. Seeing him strong enough to beat three huge guys shows how hard he worked. He built that strength through discipline. So yes, him “choosing the wheelchair” is probably easier. It’s like someone refusing physical therapy because the accident that injured them also emotionally shattered them. Sometimes people don’t avoid recovery because it’s hard they avoid it because recovery means facing a truth they aren’t ready to accept. In his case, that truth is he’s an omega, he loves the top, and accepting both is terrifying for him. And let’s talk about power. If the bottom tried to get on that bus and leave too, the top could say, “If you leave, I won’t give you my cum anymore.” Even if that wouldn’t completely stop him, the fact that it could shows who really holds the power here. The argument that “the bottom could get help but doesn’t” still doesn’t sit right with me. If someone is sexually assaulted and, because of that trauma, they spiral sleep around, hate themselves, act out asking, “Why didn’t you get help?” ignores the fact that the trauma created the need in the first place. If they weren’t assaulted, they wouldn’t need help. Similarly, if the bottom wasn’t scented, he wouldn’t need delicious cum juice. He wouldn’t be chasing someone from a literal moving bus.Yes, people who need help should get help. But needing help does not mean sharing the blame for what caused that need in the first place. And why isn’t anyone asking why the top didn’t say, “No. I won’t give you my cum. Let’s find another way”? He enabled the dependency. The bottom isn’t evil to me. He’s a victim who needs help. People say the top didn’t have bad intentions. But good intentions don’t erase harm. Let's say your mom is sick and asks you for medicine, and in a panic you grab the wrong drug and she almost dies, it may have been an accident but the damage is done. You would still need to apologize. You should have checked before giving it to her. Responsibility doesn’t disappear just because your heart was in the right place.
The top was literally punched in high school to stop scenting him and he kept doing it. That means he knew it wasn’t wanted. Responsibility here means acknowledging harm, apologizing, and stopping the behavior. Not continuing it. Not playing the victim by riding a bus dramatically when you were the one who created the situation. The bottom was already struggling with his identity. He thought he would be an alpha. Then he presented as an omega. That alone is destabilizing in omegaverse dynamics. Because the top kept scenting him, he was never given the chance to experience independence without frequent scenting on his own. He doesn’t even know what it feels like to be an omega without dependency. He never got to figure that out on his own terms. And let’s talk about addiction in this context. Addiction isn’t just about liking something. It’s about your body and brain associating relief with one specific source. He experiences physical distress. The top provides immediate cum relief. That creates reinforcement. The environment enables it because there’s no enforced boundary and the top never refuses. That’s a perfect setup for dependency. And if he truly shares the blame, do you really think he could get help without cutting the top off? For him to get help, the top would have to stop scenting him or giving him cum. But the top has never suggested that, because he wants the bottom to need and want him. Romanticizing this situation because the top “cares” ignores the harm he’s caused. Just because the top’s intentions were pure because he likes him and gives him what he needs doesn’t mean he isn’t wrong. When I say he should take responsibility, I don’t mean continuing to give him cum. I mean he should acknowledge his mistake and apologize and help the bottom get the help he needs.. If the top had never scented him, none of this would have started. Yes, the bottom shouldn’t use him. But the top wanted to be used and had the power to stop it. The bottom clearly needs help especially in that last chapter where he’s desperate for cum(me - type c, my keyboard - cum again?). I genuinely don’t understand how people don’t feel bad for him. To me, it’s simple The top created the dependency. The environment enables it. The bottom is reacting to trauma.
Good intentions don’t cancel damage done.
That’s why, no matter how many times I reread it, the bottom is still the victim in my eyes. And yes I'm unemployed living in my mom's basement send help
