If I remember correctly, MC and Ml was having a secret relationship before and was sweet and loving until MC's father caught them having a relationship because MC was acting kind of weird and he had someone investigate it, imagine hiring a private investigator to investigate your son's life affairs ToT. Afterwards, MC got beaten by his father with bruises showing and all. Because MC's father deemed homosexuality as a sin, like what would others say, though beating MC if he did wrong was commonplace to MC's father so I am not surprised, he even locked his own son in their bathroom as reflection for hours. He thought that ML was the one who led MC astray. When ML discovered the bruises on mc's body, he was furious and asked how it happened. Mc just stayed silent, he wasn't good at confrontations, especially with his own father as he has trauma towards him due to his treatment. ML is frustrated and want to confront MC's father but mc refused and said he was fine. Ml could do nothing about it since it was mc's choice, then joke about "what if I vandalized or destroyed your father's workplace?" non-verbatim but it was something along those lines. Time skips and mc started living with his mother, he doesn't have the courage to contact ml throughout these years because he was guilty that he couldn't fight or protect they're against his father, and at the same time, he was guilty that ml was indirectly the cause of his father's death (vandalizing or destroying mc's father workplace which led both of them to get into a car accdient on the way). Even though mc hated his father, he still got conscience. All in all, mc thought he was a coward who didn't deserve ml but still longs and stalks him.
