I was lowkey confused too, but I’m guessing Teaui thought that since they slept together, the sniper wouldn’t actually kill him since he was hired by Xinulu (can’t spell his name). Like Teaui assumed there had to be some feelings involved between the two (ilay and Xinulu), so he didn’t think the sniper would actually go through with it.. bc Xinulu could have warned the sniper ahead of time not to kill ilay due to their “past-relationship”. Is what I think Teaui thought and meant as in “why would he kill the guy he slept with? They must have had some feelings for eachother”.

I don’t understand what taeui meant by “after all you got to sleep with xinlu” or smth like that to ilay and why he knew that he wouldn’t get killed when he placed him in range of the sniper , can anyone explain?
