Hot take apparently but again, i still dont see how this is dragging it hasnt even been 20 chapters since the season started, and I think we actually have made progress. We are led to believe at first that Juheon is still angry at Dohu and hates him for what happens, and then we start getting pieces of Juheon's side. At first, he is still upset, yes, but he's also just worried about him as it has to do with what he's going through personally. He still harbors intense concern and protectiveness over Dohu (when Dohu showed up drunk, when they drove him home) definitely still loves him, in this recent chapter, he literally doesnt think anything else in that moment but "we can't be together because he'll get hurt" which is a lot more direct and meaningful for him than what he's been saying and thinking earlier. Like, it feels slow because he keeps pushing Dohu away and we only get weekly (with some week breaks) updates, but it's really not dragging resolving a whole arc in 17 eps would be kind of wild and have 0 payoff to, again, what they have been building since season 1. This is the head of the **whole plot**

They weren't even TOGETHER within the first 20 chapters either ofc everyone's entitled to their opinions but my god

I agree with you!!! Like this angst is killing me but its so good and doesn't seem unnecessary. If it only took 17 chapters that wouldn't make sense. I love the characters and how its going. I like how they're showing how Juheon really feels. Especially given all of Juheon's trauma things will take a bit.

Yes I agree. I actually liked that they made this whole thing more “complex” than what it was initially. People would go crazy over actual slow burn media

Youre in the 3rd or 4th season where before you went a whole season and it passed multiple months. Youre now in a season where the author did a time jump and a grand total of a month tops.( and Im being generous) has passed. The velocity of the general story has stalled. It doesnt matter about the season. For 65 chapters this story was moving... with angst and all.... that is gone.

    daBOD February 27, 2026 2:34 am

If the head of your entire story is in the fourth arc, and it took a time jump. and theres no end in sight why make them the focus of the story. Stories where slow burns like this get you to chapter 300 have a universe and lore, this one is pretty much just them.

"No end in sight" there very much is... and I even explained how there has been development. Also, the amount of time passing in the story is irrelevant when there is plenty happening. It might be slower timewise but it is still progressing at a normal pace. And if the problem you had was that "why wait for the plot to come to a head in its later seasons" well... then why did you keep reading this far knowing it hasnt happened yet? It hasn't even been that long. The story just started its third season. Honestly, this sounds like an impatience problem

You asked why I kept reading. Because through 68 chapters the author did her job. A complete slow burn. A relationship. A betrayal. A collapse. I kept reading because she earned that. I'm still here waiting for her to clock back in.
What you're calling development is entirely internal monologue. No conversations. No confrontations. Just Juheon thinking in circles while the actual wound goes unaddressed. We are not in a slow burn anymore. The relationship happened. The betrayal happened. Juheon has had the full picture since chapter 68. This should be reconciliation but reconciliation requires two people actually confronting what broke them. That hasn't happened once, because two characters are doing the same thing they did since Season 1.

At this pace with seasons running 30-36 chapters, the author has abandoned her own pace I cited multiple arcs in 68 chapters. We cant even get reconciliation arc started and the season is half way over.

And the one question nobody is asking once yall get out yall chests about the slow burn and angst is. What comes next? Because you're banking this whole story on reconciliation right, because it deserves it? After that what story do you have left?

A true reader wants a COMPLETE story that includes character growth, consistent pacing and a happy ending ...because this is a romance afterall. Maybe when he gets over his auntie issues in another 10 chapters we might get them talking.

And your comment about the weekly cadence doesn't help or explain anything. It just explains that she's incentivized to extend and NOT end. That's how they get paid on platforms, and its understood but others do it with a story actually built to handle it.

I've literally been here since the first chapter 2 years ago, so I'm invested just not delusional :)

So what I'm hearing here is that, in your opinion, inner monologue can't possibly be progress... okay, sure. I disagree with that. We didn't get to see what Juheon was really thinking until recently. And we HAVE gotten confrontations but Juheon is clearly hiding behind a mask and Dohu knows this now. I view this as progress. If you don't, whatever.

Now what I also don't get is your acknowledgement that this season has taken place over a short period of time, and it's been 17 chapters, and it sounds like you expect them to have everything already be addressed? Which in basically every way, is unrealistic. In real life and story telling. There's zero way after Juheon got hurt as bad as he did that he would just be willing to talk about everything with Dohu after seeing him for the first time in forever at his place of work, especially since he's also concerned over his safety. People take way longer to talk for way less. And from a storytelling perspective, that's rushed. If they had long winded conversations in like, chapter 10 of the season (don't need to mention how this is what the plot has been building to again do i?) That would feel and sound stupid. To me, at least. Their reconciliation won't just happen without reason. Youre right, it requires two people confronting it. But Juheon is not ready. He's not just gonna be ready. If you ask me, i think he is more ready than he was at the start of the season simply because he basically admitted that he would still want to be with Dohu if he could. But whatever, you're entitled to think differently.

Im also not banking the whole story off of the reconciliation. It is insane to think that the story wasn't building to this moment though. It's a classic trope that the author has technically (by your perceived definition at least) been "dragging out" since season 2 started without it being addressed. Hiding something from the love interest for two seasons that would hurt them. Like, that quite literally started everything. Dohu had been thinking about it all of season 2. So you ask me what comes next? Lmfao, I'm not the author. I asked myself the same thing after season 2 ended because there are many things that could. They could have an arc building up a certain level of trust again. Something specific to their families or careers. They may make up before Juheon's aunt problems get resolved. Dohu is about to have issues with his old bully. Like, we are not void of plot points just because the reconciliation hasn't happened yet, if that's what is being implied here. I'm not worried that they won't make up before the season is over. If they don't, yeah, I may call it dragging, but its been half a season. I'm calm.

I don't appreciate you acting like I'm not a true reader though. That's unnecessary to choose to diminish my experience with the story simply because I think it's not as bad as people are making it seem because they haven't made up yet. Not to mention that some of these chapters are short, and we get a break after every three. I'm not gonna get mad at the author for dragging it to make money either lol these comic artists get paid pennies. If you are frustrated by it, well, i would get it. But I don't think anything about this pace is particularly egregious. My favorite romance manga is on year seven (I'm on year four with it) and the main characters still aren't dating. But I understand why it's taking as long as it is. I understand the authors vision and limitations. As frustrating as it can be, at the end of the day, its art that I'm reading for free, and I love how it was and I still love how it is. Call it rose colored glasses, or say I'm not a "true reader" or whatever but Im enjoying it regardless
