I liked the novel but I was already very interested from the first chapters of the manhwa. I'd say BL aspects feel better in the manhwa while novel has more tension in the action scenes. Mystery was also more interesting with the trade-off of dragging a bit so manhwa speeding up the pacing isn't always worse. It definitely improves as you give it time to cook but if you're not invested by now it probably won't change your life.
Personally I have a problem with the fact that the manhwa is too clearly derived from a novel. Many situations in the manhwa should have required quick actions (like the bad guy quartet could have been shot almost immediately with MC's gun, yet they focus on wrong things, chatting etc. and don't disarm them and get more ammunition that way), but instead we focus on thinking and MC's inner world. It works in novels, but this... not so much. It's like Death Note without internal monologue - unrealistic and a bit dopy. Still like the story though.

can novel readers tell me their experience reading this? I feel Like comapred to most other similar manhwas some aspects of this feels slightly... off (to me) ? and I'm not so emotiionally invested + gaybabying the main couple to ignore it
is the novel better and more coherent in certain ways?
I'll hold back my review cus everyone will just bash you for not loving something in a comment section like this
