Not embarrassment. Not “haha lowkey deaf.” His family. But I guess if you’re only reading for Dohwa, actually remembering plot points can get inconvenient.
Now about Dohwa. He got rejected in middle school. He got rejected again recently. And her reaction after that kiss? That was rejection too. Just because he refuses to process it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
I agree Sooae should be clearer but let’s not pretend he’s oblivious. He sees her vulnerability he sees she’s emotionally unstable in that moment and instead of stepping back, he chooses to push forward and secure a place for himself that’s not pure devotion, that’s opportunistic.
Sooae clearly struggles with guilt, feeling like she owes Dohwa some form of reciprocation simply because he keeps imposing his feelings on her. That’s not romance, that’s pressure.
And yes, Sooae also uses Dohwa at times to fill the void Eunhyuk left that’s exactly why I will never ship Sowha they’re both clinging to something that isn’t love it’s loneliness, guilt, and unresolved feelings, not mutual affection.
And please, she didn’t “kiss back a guy who clearly had feelings.” He kissed her. Let’s not rewrite the scene just to protect your favorite .
Also, there are plenty of stories where the male lead disappears for years and y’all love those arcs suddenly it’s only a problem here? Let’s be honest, you’re putting all the blame on that time skip because you want it to justify Dohwa being endgame.
