the thing about this story is that it has all the elements that can make a pretty icky and downright problematic story but i feel like this story actually avoids it nicely. for starters, ml is 8 years older than him, obviously richer, and is still lying about himself. so some pretty big obvious red flags. but despite all of that I feel like the relationship isn’t forced, they literally met coincidentally and had pretty good chemistry. it wasn’t under coercion or under the influence and it was made known early on that it was a causal relationship. so not like perfect, but stays around the bare minimum. the thing is, ml knew about mc’s debt and situation for a long time but never took advantage of that and is still not doing that now, and mc never even wished for the clearly older, richer man he was Fing to take care if it. there’s clear respect from both mc’s and having read lots of stories centering an mc in debt, i feel like this was done pretty well.
