I'm not positive about that (that he deserves better). Maybe he did from his first friend, but def not now from Eunha, bc he lied to her that he was a student in 98 etc etc, in order to make her trust him, while he went and killed people behind her back (shudder to think what would've happened to glasses senior if Eunha hadn't been there when Haesu found him)
I mean, you’re right. I was being a little dramatic. I’m just sad for the tragedy of his character. He’s been alone for a long time and “lost” the only friend he ever made. I don’t think he ever got to experience much of life. I’m not saying he’s morally good, more like chaotic neutral, but any way you slice it he’s only bound for tragedy—or at most a bittersweet goodbye.
Did he lie? In his mind, he was part of the class because of that name tag. I don’t think he ever had a chance to go to school while alive, but lived around the area and drowned in the pound before it was filled in and built over. I think he was honest about having a disease that didn’t allow him to touch people without transmitting it. As for her bullies: he did tell her he would take care of them and then told her he killed the boy before the boy even actually died, so I’m sure he initially believed she understood that he was offering to kill them (though he did say no one would find the body and they did…). Now that he knows she doesn’t like it and told him not to kill anyone but the bullies, he’s confused about what to do with his resentment towards the glasses boy.
Not sure if it’s the number of people that need to be killed or something else, but somehow the deaths of a great number of students is the key to his release. It’ll be interesting to know what that is.

After reading chapter 34 I think I wanna drop it. She’s literally betraying Haesu for no reason and re-traumatizing him by listening to other people instead of just talking to him and waiting for him to tell her what happened. He promised to tell her!!! I don’t understand T-T Haesu deserves better.
