What really bugs my mind here is that the author is no amateur, yet made the huge mistake of making the new character more relevant than the bottom in a sequel. In stories like this, the main relationship should be the focus. It felt like she was so into her new character, she forgot all about Yoshino. Like ma'am, you should've jumped into a spin off right away instead of releasing this weird ass set up. Though I also blame the editor who okay'd this premise. Obviously it'd have a mixed reception.
