Yes gajun is the prophesy child. He dies at first so sunwoo makes a deal with other world to let gajun leave that place alive. Since gajun is the prophesy child, they accept his offer and provides him 12 chances to save gajun(prologue). When sunwoo dies, probability of gajun surviving gets below 1%, hence the loop repeating. So loop didn't happen because of sunwoo but rather gajun. Sunwoo and gajun initially don't remember the original time but whenever gajun was in danger, it triggered those memories in sunwoo and that's why he'd always die while saving gajun. Gajun will only remember it later on. Hope this helped
