dungeons are spaces that can stay while rifts close after you defeat the rift boss/master! the current dungeon they're in is connected to the rift euijae was stuck in, but we aren't supposed to know that yet LOL dungeon and rift are used separately in the korean raws as dungeon is 던전 and rift is 균열! so while they are technically the same space, they appeared differently.
there is also a reason why the west sea rift appeared but we'll learn about that later. it's a littleeee complicated to explain if you're manhwa only...
So MC didn't defeat the boss since the rift is still active ?
Not necessarily, I think they thought it was just a rift that will close when the boss is defeated. However, after the West Sea Rift closed prior to the story, it was considered an anomaly. Later on, they will learn that the rift was connected to something more cataclysmic and tragic. We also find out the traumatic truth behind what J and the other hunters went through in the closed rift, leading to him being the only survivor.
he did, but the west sea rift was different compared to all of the other ones. he got out when he defeated it (it was mentioned in the earlier chs of the manhwa) but it's a much bigger thing
ML said that everything that got out of the rift was his, so I thought the rift was still opened... Guess I'll have to re-read from the begining when they start to explain things
It did close, but the ML hoped for many years that the rift would reopen because J is trapped inside. And, it did temporarily reopen to release J. Now, we have dungeons that are turning into the same landscape as the rift.
What is the difference between a dungeon and the rift they keep talking about ?
It looks like MC was fighting monsters before he entered the rift and "died" inside of it, but I remember they said somewhere that the rift was the first supernatural thing that appeared, right ? So before the dungeons ?
MC also said that he was the only one who knew what was inside that rift, but since it's still there 8 years later, does that mean that monsters do not get out of it ? So why did they enter it back then and fought inside of it ?
