I AGREE TOO..CHAPTERS ARE GETTING SHORTER!!!
It feels like they're slowing down the pacing too. Given how much they skipped/downplayed in the earlier seasons, its a bit unusual to me that its suddenly seemingly trying to be nearly 1 to 1 chapter wise between the novel and adaptation. Off the top of my head I can't remember how many chapters are in the og novel, but its well over 200 so they may be trying to bring the adaptation to that amount as well. If that's true it would maybe explain the shorter chapters. I think this latest one only covered like 2 maybe 3 chapters instead of the usual 3 to maybe 5. Hell in season 2 they basically skipped an entire arc, so they slow down and shorter chapters are confusing to me too.
Right I just went and checked. Including the side stories the first story has 340 chapters. Sorry if my wording is confusing, without a huge spoiler, theres an after story. Sorry I really lack the words to explain it in a not spoiling the entire ending way.
Lets just call it a cannon "what if?".
