I would have liked the beginning a bit more if the prince had instead broken off the engagement for her sake as well, instead of cuss he was just dumb and lacked common sense. Nothing really would have needed to change in the story either, but his overally character and subsequent actions later would have made more sense/been seen in a bit of a better light. He still could have truly been in love with the other girl, still could have called it off at that party, and still had the fake meltdown. Truthfully if his motivations were different, he was a bit smarter/more cunning, and he had planned it out to a certain extent with her, then her continued loyalty, and his later actions with the investigation would have been better. Again even his meltdown during his house arrest could have been written as the beginning of his investigation, and him finding out could have been through cleverness instead of luck. In this way he helps his childhood friend accomplish her dreams (since she said breaking off her engagement from her end is difficult), protects his family and people, stops a treason plot, and still been able to end up with the love of his life. I think he could have been an interesting/more nuanced character if he was just written a bit better. He didn't need to be written as exceptional, just a bit smarter, with more common sense. I do still like the story and its characters overall, this is just one major aspect I wish was done better.

So theres this smut manga that I read quite a while ago and didn't finish and some parts of the story have been living rent free in my head driving me nuts. Its about an Fl who came from the countryside (can't remember her name) to the city whose been struggling with love and relationships. All the guys shes tried dating have left her after sleeping with her since that's all they were interested in, but would lead her on. Anyway she goes to a mixer I think and meets a guy (I think this name was kaname, but I could be wrong) who seems like a nice perfect gentleman, but turns out to be a total jerk. He walks her home only to show his real face and come on to her. I can't remember if they kept meeting by coincidence or not, but she learns he's a real playboy. Tbh the mc is incredibly naive and idk how she fell for him. If I remember right at the point I ended he started to realize he likes her, but agreed to go on a date with another woman to get that woman off his back, which she found out about and was super heartbroken. Btw they're all adults so its not some hs setting (I'm probably wrong, but I think some are in college). Anyway help is greatly appreciated. I've failed over and over to find it.
Is it the greatest thing since sliced bread? No. Is it interesting enough to hold my tiny attention span? Yup. Its not groundbreaking or anything, but the way they do the visuals is really pleasing to my eye.
