In RoFan you get rescued by the cold Duke from the North (they never have a cold Duke of the south, gotta be a directional bias). In real life you can't even count on the letters of the law protecting you. Who cares what that guy looked like, he wasn't of any help! Limp pasta would've at least lifted the mood!
Problems get solved depending on how long the author can string you along. In real life problems no only persist, the moment you stop actively fighting them tooth and nail they start to multiply exponentially and if that doesn't do the trick, you got people who're trying to turn the clock back to "me and mine", but like, officially this time and with malicious glee. With a certain flavor of audacity that makes me regret sullying the poor word with THIS MEANING, as it's never been so open, unabashed and prideful even though there's just nothing to be proud about to be found in this state of things.
All so stupid and short-sighted and frankly disgusting regarding blatantly lying that the most flat and campy villains of RoFan (evil Stepsister and Mother, Freud's tag-team) appear to have at least depth of personality and mayhaps a kind of reasonable motivation, albeit lazily executed.
