I'll go first I don't really like alpha x alpha. I mean it might as well just be two gay men what's the point in making it an omegaverse. If one of them can't get pregnant there's no point in it being one. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
P.s this way of thinking does not apply to Omega x Omega it's not done nearly enough!

My unpopular opinion is that just because the uke/bottom is Buffy and manly that does not mean he is a power bottom or has a backbone. That doesn’t also mean that the relationship can’t be heteronormative and feel like there’s a weird empower imbalance. The best example of this is roses and champagne the uke got shot and brutally raped then he goes back to his rapist like nothing and there’s nothing powerful about him. Sure he’s muscular but their dynamic feels like I’m reading a straight, dark romance Wattpad fan fiction.

depends on the author and what rules they want to apply to the omegaverse world. i've seen bl alpha x alpha stories where one of them does get pregnant/give birth.

sometimes alpha males giving birth is treated as a common thing while other times it could be a rarer occurrence in their world.

You know what's funny I actually just finished reading this story after my 5-year break from it. Personally I think that entire relationship was trauma bonding and Stockholm syndrome. I think people tend to classify power bottoms as bottoms with an attitude/feisty. But they forget just because they have these attributes doesn't necessarily mean that they're dominating in the relationship. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Apparently dominant alphas and impregnate normal alphas lolol, not sure where I read that from though

But here’s my hot take: I don’t like ukes that are a lot older than the seme

Okay so I've never read a story like that please send me some recommendations. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
But yes I agree it's not necessarily that I hate alpha x alpha per se it's that I don't feel like there's a point in making an omegaverse if nobody gets pregnant if an alpha can get pregnant then I wouldn't have a problem with the story dynamic. It's just that when they say it's alpha x alpha and then it's literally just two guys sleeping together. Then there was no point in giving them secondary genders. Imo ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

You're talking about enigmas. This is a rare sighting though most stories are just regular alpha x alpha with no real meaning behind the secondary genders other than drama.

I don’t like it when the author turns the alpha/beta into an omega. If they wanted them to be an omega then just make them that from the beginning ( ̄へ ̄)

I could see how you could feel that way. Me personally I find it funny, but I do feel it is a bit overdone. And can be annoying when you read story after story like that.

Okay hot take omegaverse isnt really my cup of tea, idk Im just not into it or I don’t like it that much. Although this may be biased cause I haven’t really read much omega-verse and maybe im just getting the bad ones ???? Open to recs tho. But when I show my skepticism I get onslaught of dislikes lol

I don't really have a hot take as of now so I'll talk about yours instead:
Imo the whole schtick about alpha x alpha is the appeal of having two buff "dominant" men getting together, kinda like top x top but more macho, hypermasculine and animalistic(?). Such a pairing comes with pre-existing imbued tropes such as "forbidden love", "against all odds", "fate and destiny doesn't control us" type of shit, along with the heavy sexual tension, battle for dominance, biological enemies to lovers (wait the phrasing sounds weird ) and the idea of incompatible pheromones mingling together during sex, yeah it's hot lololol. Alpha x alpha is usually frequented and liked among groups who prefer reading about buff attractive men, rather than the age old dynamic of y/n x ceo (twink bottoms).
Although I do like axa, I'm not really a fan of omegaverse. Despite of what I said above, the one thing I hate above all else is power imbalance and omegaverse is the highest repeat offender. Even in the supposed axa dominant couple setting, there's rarely ANY sort of equal ground b/w the two alphas. One is always forced to submit one way or it either, subtly or loudly. A good example of this being enforced is making the top a "higher and better" alpha than their bottom. Classifications such as "dominant and recessive", 'hyper dominant", "SSS class alpha" and whatever bs are quite prominent. It disgusts me and it really makes me wonder too, if authors wanted a "submissive" character to the end, they could've just gone with an omega who's fiesty, strong, independent, etc?? I wouldn't be so angry if said alpha bottoms are submissive by default/preferences, it's rather bc they're the opposite of what they become right after they "lose" to the ml.

Anyways, I'm gonna stop here lol. P.s: we need more omega x omega, and wlw alpha x alpha

INTERESTING! While I personally enjoy this trope. I don't enjoy it when they make them unfaithful. Or when they feel the need to worry about their relationship cuz one of them is a slut. Like if it's a playful manner of jealousy then it's cute but if it's constant and serious it becomes draining.

While what you said makes a lot of sense I do think at the end of the day it's up to the person writing the story. I've read Omegaversus where the author builds the world in such a beautiful way and omegas aren't depicted in such a negative/demeaning light.( I hope this makes sense) But I will admit these stories are rare sightings. (≧∀≦)
Also as for alpha x alpha I still feel like it's pointless, but I can understand how some people can be drawn to it. But me personally all I see is two extra gay men. There are plenty of stories where buff macho men are entangled with each other. There's literally no need to make it an omegaverse unless they're a baby at the end of the story. Imo it's just not as satisfying to read because the possibility of male pregnancy is literally the whole point of an omegaverse.

It all just depends on what you're into but I can't lie recently they've been releasing some pretty toxic ones. So I'd be more than happy to send you a couple of recs. I actually find all verses interesting because it's amusing how many ways they come up with as for a reason why another person can't physically live without the other.
