I think the problem was that the Jin family settlement (aka their home base) is in a prime location for others to try to gain control of the territory. Something, something about the land being strategically interesting like Erebor was in The Hobbit. So the ones interested in throwing out the Jins did so by assassinating the heir (MC's friend) and creating strife among their allies, so when the time comes to fight and drive them out, they won't have anyone coming to help them. Pyo Wol's presence was unaccounted for in the initial plans, but now they want to use him as a scapegoat while the true enemies try to diminish the Jin's military forces and influence.

I’m ngl I’m kinda ready for this arc to be wrapped up I’ve been confused since the Jin guy died can someone explain to me like I’m five what’s going on with the sect dynamics cause ik pyo will is tryna figure out how his “friend” died but all this political stuff I’m high key lost abt.
