i think he did it because when he called kyo tohru's boyfriend and that he looks really happy, it's what led to yuki blowing up. after all, he blew up at kakeru because he made it seem like yuki wasn't happy and match with the fact that he feels incompetent compared to kakeru because yuki himself isn't a people person.
