But that's the entire point of this story. Relationships come in all different forms, and this one is about this type. JK was trash at the beginning but he lived a life of fight or die, and he thought originally Doc was a money hungry gold digger who wasn't against whoring himself out. Doc never attempted to fix that misunderstanding and was desperate enough for cash because of his circumstances to go through with exactly that. That only played into JKs original view of him. JK doesn't find out any truths about doc until after Doc ghosts him. And remember, that was exactly how all of JKs past partners were, and they loved his rough sex style.
It's docs innocence and gentleness that causes JK to begin to change, but not without a hefty dose of suffering because he was too meek to stand against JKs "I must be the strongest and crush everyone around me" mentality. (Caused by copious amounts of JKs childhood traumas) The relationship is balancing out as JK surrenders power in this relationship wholely over to doc, and he is attempting to heavily repent and learn from his mistakes. It's obvious the weight of his guilt.

Honestly it would be such a great read IF NOT ALL THAT DUBIOUS R****APEISH AGRESSIVE F**^^^^UCKING BEHAVIOUR really, the story didn’t need the jinx premise to work. Or it could have been executed differently, with unemotional, distanced s*x rather than the violent ones. I don’t like the concept of giving someone so black flagish a cute and innocent love interest; he deserves a psycho x psycho story in my opinion. That would’ve still been sexy and controversial, but in more balanced way
