It's a good story, don't let people tell you it's not. It's a good plot, albeit a touch typical but the chase arch was soooooo good. Omega had a backbone which is incredibly refreshing.
The ML though, he had what, like 3 jobs? Lol One of which was a doctor intern??? That alone would keep him so incredibly slammed. He just got to waste time like it was nothing. Also he was supposed to be incredibly terminally ill, but that just sort of got glossed over. Like I said, a bit nonsensical. He was whatever he needed to be in each moment.
Tbh, other than the initial assault, the other ML honestly wasn't much of a bad person. I actually felt bad for him as his father has clearly always been abusive over tiny things that he couldn't really have any control over (ie, the real ML showing up to a party or not). Idk, I couldn't bring myself to really hate him. (Author, you also forgot his tattoo a lot at the end)
Idk, I don't really think it should have broke that 9.0 rating. It's good but it's not great. Tbh, the ML is exactly like all the other alphas, if not worse. His only real passing mark is that he didn't drive himself on the MC but he does say all the creepy shit out load at the end there. This universe sounds like hell tbh and the alphas do absolutely just get to run rampant. Whatever social unrest was being suggested at the beginning is completely forgotten about just as soon as it is said. Honestly this world seems like a ticking time bomb waiting to erupt where the alphas could find themselves wiped out because of the injustice. But again, it's just forgotten about. Same with the MLs pack of alpha friends. They weren't ever explained in any way.
The MC literally just ends up falling in line. Idk, it just wasn't all that good to me. The world doesn't show any signs of being good or getting better, the ML is the biggest shitty alpha , he just seems to get a pass because his obsession keeps him 100% loyal to the MC but he fully utilizes the shitty and utterly corrupt system with absolutely no hint of disliking it despite having supposedly suffered because of it and despite that his omega has vastly suffered because of it. The MC just ends up falling into line for what is expected of him by society as a recessive omega, especially one who caused an awakening. I wouldn't say he grew at all either, if anything it just felt like he resigned himself to his fate as if to say, "This is how things are supposed to be, no point in fighting it."
Idk, it just didn't strike any "this is great, I'm going to tell my friends about it" cords. It was a very meh story.
