Summary: Absolutely no logic to anything and has snail pacing.

Lets face it, everything that has happened this far could have easily been done in 20 chapters or less. This story suffers strongly from a slow pacing issue. The author is needlessly struggling to draw this out as some sort of mystery suspense, but theyve missed the balance and it just drags.
That doesn't even touch on all the bullshit this story just expects you to over look. Haeil is the absolute worst kept secret ever. Our MC smol boi literally just walks into his tank room willy nilly the very first chapter. The ML constantly hurts people and doesn't even attempt to hide and were supposed to think that no one knows about him?
He's an orca that can change into a human but no one is researching him anymore? He's just been left in a room almost entirely unsupervised? Bull.
An INTERN with absolutely no aquatic mammal handling training is being put in charge of feeding the most dangerous aquatic mammal known to man? Again, unsupervised??? Bull.
He can change into a human but for some reason everyone is acting like he needs a massive tank or the ocean?????????????????
They just let him walk out of the research facility utterly unchecked?????? He could have just, ya know, never returned.
MCs dad freaks out when he hears his son is employed at Marine and shows up at his door, says fucking nothing and then leaves. Like why did you even show up bro? Na,better to just walk away leaving your son in the dark about something you're clearly terrified of and just let God knows what happen to him. (This entire scene literally did not need to be in this story at all)

Just, nothing really makes sense is this story, which might explain why this is the first story is probably 15 years that I have zero idea what's going to happen because there is absolutely nothing here that follows any line of logic. But in 60 chapters all that's happened is MC finds out that ML is the orca and shapeshift. Then realizes he's an orca he met in his forgotten past (because of course, the world's absolute worst over used trope). The ML is a non-adjusted man child who hospitalizes and kills people over minor infractions. MCs dad and the CEO used to work together but there was clearly some sort of falling out. And that's about it.

60 chapters for incoherent slop. Why does this have such a high rating? And I wish they'd draw an orca in all its Majesty instead of this ugly cutsey version. Can't they draw it seriously even once? What a disservice to one of the oceans most fearsome predators.

I think this should be the low 8.0s. it's not terrible, it's not really good either.
I am only 40 chapters in and I will finish this, but man is this rough.
What little bit of plot is set up either never happens or is full of holes.

Father set up to be the typical controlling rich father. Sits in the corner as a wordless forgotten about prop.

Gangster husband were introduced to passed out drunk and/or high on the couch in the middle of an orgy.
Never shows signs of being a gangster or bad at all ever again

Everyone looks down on MC for being an escort in the past?
ML tells a singular maid he was the one who gave the MC ramen 1 time and now MC is treated as a queen by everyone

MC is sensitive to pheromones and gets sick when he smells any but the ML's
Is immediately forgotten about after sexual harassment scene from one of ML's brothers

Doctor sees a bunch of hickeys on MC's body and demands they stop having sex (for literally no reason)
So MC goes to live with his grandma to stop the couple from jumping each other's bones..... Then proceeds to immediately state they they have sneaky sex behind his grandmother's back, so why even move out of you weren't going to listen to the doctor????

Any "plot" that should be tense and overarching is wrapped up so quickly that it just feels like a quick checkmark for a list and it all feels completely inconsequential. There really is no plot outside of the couple's personalities.

ML doesn't act like a gangster, is p*say whipped and says absolutely nothing but perverted 1 liners. (The most interesting thing happening in this story)

About 34 chapters in the author wants to make us believe that the MC is so depressed that they want to die by the overly convenient plot device of sleep talking, but this hasn't been hinted at remotely ever before. Or really even afterwards. The MC should have some real depth to them but in practice actually just comes out as bland and flat as printer paper.

The REAL plot of this story is as follows:
-new location-
MC is sitting somewhere (always sitting)
MC wants or is eating food.
ML shows up with food.
ML says a few audacious perverted 1 liners
The pair bone
Repeat on endless loop to the point that the sex begins to feel like Naruto filler episodes.

The story is OK at best. It's not terrible, but it's barely decent and definitely not great or compelling. Art is good. Should not be almost 9.0

I may update after finishing if I feel like any of this changes.

And it *never* gets sorted. Sh*t happens, but MC is right, why aren't the omegas carrying their damned inhibitors? Why is everyone turning a blink eye to not just spousal abuse but physical assault at the work place? Why are people having sex literally everywhere?

The MC definitely has prejudice towards alphas and omegas but it's not unfounded. He literally cannot understand things about them past theory. So of course he's uncomfortable and unsure around them. On top of that he's constantly dealing with sexual harassment in the form of unwanted scenes of indecent exposure from others, and those people are _never_ punished for it. In fact, HE got punished for someone else's deplorable behavior. And even after that, that behavior that caused such an uproar and is INCREDIBLY unprofessional continued on without restraint or curbing.
It was all so bad that he actually quit his job because of it, which the story seems to low-key forget. They just start to pretend like he quit his job simply so he could travel. If this is the MLs company, I'm surprised he didn't turn around and crack down on all of this considering it led to his very capable lover to quit.

It's a light read, but the unresolved issues do mean you have to sort of turn your brain off to the over arching issues that cause problems for the MC in the plot.
I might have read the side stories in the past but I don't really remember and have no interest in reading Mr. Lee's relationship drama that cause our real MC so many issues and was so astonishingly unprofessional. I don't need to get frustrated reading that fucking train wreck.

Cuz while everyone is a green flag here, it's just not that good of a story. The world building is meh and spotty at best. I will always dock points for a tail coming out of the middle of the spine too...... I think the biggest issue with this story is just how extremely narrow it is. The pacing wasn't great but I feel like that also boils down to this incredibly narrow story. The entire story is almost nothing but these two characters in this one apartment. The other characters are barely more than off screen plot devices. You barely glimpse any settings outside of the one apartment. It doesn't make for good story telling.

The characters also just aren't consistent. Why is it that Dodong always has his cat ears and tail? No other character is like that. I guess just to make him more cute? Why does Dodong act way more animal like than anyone else? (It's almost like the author was like, "I want to bang my cat, but if only they could turn human.... That would be a GREAT story idea!)
Also the shifters seem to spend way too much time in animal form, because they can't actually communicate more than basic things through body language. Especially with other species. Society cannot function like that. (Also, hello animal abusing director?????)

The writing suggests a more novice writer. As far as the sex, the story spends way too much time building up to it, and then seems to suddenly jump a bunch of steps and just splats it into the story in a rather forceful way right after the MC was like, "He's obviously not ready, I'll keep restraining myself." He'd been keeping a ton of space, not even kissing or getting handsy and then BOOM, though sex. You get one sex scene, and then it's off screen irrelevant drama that gets wrapped up immediately as well and then end of story. It just wasn't a particularly compelling read.

Art is good, writing is extremely mid, characters are all big green flags.
I wouldn't give this above an 8.0-8.2 at best though. And that's only because the art is good and the characters are green.

That's about the only praise I can give this at this time. The other pieces I think I remember liking, despite the weasel-like features of the character's faces in the other works. This one tho? No. I hate everyone except MC but do find him to be a complete idiot.

When the other friends were talking about him having good memory, and thinking logically, I found myself wanting to react the meme of the guy looking around like, Wtf you talking about? MC has been a grade A idiot this entire time.
ML is trash. Extremely manipulative, can't just you know, say how he feels? Nope, has to do a bunch of elaborate shit which has peeked with giving the love of his life questionable illegal drugs to hopefully turn him into an omega..... I wish I could understand that jump in logic.
Idk what's going on with MLs mother, but I don't care what sort of excuse they attempt to give her later, she deserves to rot in hell right along with literally everyone who has uttered anything about her. In fact, I think she deserves to suffer hell in life and in death. I wish every terrible thing possible to happen to that woman.

The shitty ass characters aside, the pacing of this story is crap. I feel like the author has really attempted to hold onto this mystery that just doesn't need to be a mystery. By doing so theyve stretched the story out too long and not given us the proper amount of backstory at the right times. So we cannot fathom how it is that the MC just buys whatever the ML says. Throw onto this completely pointless mentions and arches in the story. The entire first arch with the "pretending" just flat out didn't need to happen in any way shape or form. Especially when you throw in the other most useless throw away mention of the plot being that the MC has dated a man before and even attempted sex. Before that forgotten mention it was assumed MC just liked women so the ML was tricking him to show him the pleasures of anal. But nope, both of these interactions turn out to be utterly meaningless with the first arch being SUCH a waste of time and paper.

A better structure would have been to have given us a broken memory backstory of the boys(do as to give the mystery aspect that the author is desperate to have), move into modern day where alpha jackass is too nervous to confess his feelings to his bisexual beta best friend, and then this professor comes in and we can start the real story only like 5 chapters in. Also, we need proper backstory for the ML sooner. Honest to God, we should have had everything we have now AND some more in this story like 2 seasons ago. Literally no reason to keep his shitty childhood a secret.
Instead we had slop for a season and a half and actual story afterwards. Literally almost nothing from before Professor Cha's arrival is really needed for what is happening in the core story.

I have a pretty good idea where this story is going to go, and my hopes are not high. I don't find myself thinking that this will be one I look back fondly on. I think it'll just be another one in the crowd.

But honestly that took a lot of effort. Idky this has such a high rating or why anyone likes it. The art is subpar, which isn't a deal breaker but it certainly is when the story is so darn bland and monotoned.

I love a secret child trope but this isn't it. The child has to be a secret/hidden for a reason. In this story they are just cuz. The alpha wasn't abusive, his family treated the omega exceptionally well, the omega wasn't running away from anything, the alpha nor his family were particularly well off so he wouldn't damage his reputation, the alpha didn't have particularly big dreams, nada. And the omega doesn't site anything like that for keeping the child a secret. He literally did it just cuz.

Let me retrace. He jumps the alpha, who has helped out the omega a lot as had his entire family, in his first rut, takes advantage of him (bordering on rape but is definitely at minimum sexual assault) (no, I don't care if the author attempted to fix this GLARING issue retroactively), all because he decided upon seeing that alpha in rut "You know what, I know I should leave, but like.... I could just get pregnant. That sounds like a fantastic idea." (I am not fucking joking). Just decides to use this alpha as an unwitting sperm donor, poofs the next morning, and runs off and has this child alone.(Aka, kidnapping) STEALS the first 4 years of his life which can never be gotten back, and never plans to tell this alpha about his child at all. Also, let's not forget that the alpha's amazing family who tended to this omega whenever his father beat the shit out of him, also missed out on their grandson's life. And again,he did all of this for no particular reason. He just thought having a kid would be super happy and cheerful 24/7 and he wouldn't have to be alone. Its also obvious he didn't actually care who the sperm donor was,he just decided in that second that having a kid would be a fantastic idea and took advantage of the alpha in rut in front of him, who also had feelings for him.

That is the CORE of this story. And in the end when the alpha finds out he's just happy to have a kid, but in no way feels robbed of all those irreplaceable moments. That is definitely not how anyone would feel if they had wanted to be there and weren't able to. The sense of loss to that time and those experiences would be enormous.

Moving past the shitty core story though, this manwha just feels like it has a checklist of tropes and is just ticking them each off one after another with no excitement, build up, or fleshing out when leaves this story feeling overall, very bland and flat. It's constantly an, "And then" story. The MC moves in to a new appartment, and then discovers his first love living next door with a child, and then he sees him with a supposed lover, and then the child goes missing, and then the lover his actually just his uncle, and then they start dating, and then another alpha from the past who is rich shows up, and then the alpha is a sleeze and is trying to sleep with the omega, and then the main couple have an argument, and then there's another misunderstanding with second alpha, and then the kid cries and falls, and then all is well between the main couple, and then the omega tells the alpha that the kid is his, and then the MC is just chill with it.

It's all very bland and boring. All of these tropes can be done very very well on their own(and there are plenty of stories like that) or mixed in some way, but the way this story is done is that it gives off this vibe of just ticking off boxes.

Idk, I don't think the story is good. The omega seems to get a pass for his shitty ass behavior and personality because of the double standard that the one who takes a dick can't be the rapist/sexual assaulter, and because he was abused. The rest of the story isn't paced well, it's not fleshed out, and is just plain boring. Throw onto that the subpar artwork and it's so extremely mid that I cannot believe that it's hot a 9.0+ rating. The only thing I can think of is that people are being willfully blind towards the very problematic omega and give a thumbs up to anything so long as the seme isn't the rapist.
