This comment section is just my personal venting ground at this point
Honestly, as someone who commonly delves into PORNWHA and debauchery of the written kind, (even as a (hetero?) non asexual,) hearing people talk about sex kinda icks me, unless I'm REALLY close to them, then it doesn't for some reason. I imagine hearing the actual act would pick me no matter the closeness to the person(and would probably ick me more if I was close to them...)

That's pretty interesting, I guess we're in similar boats. Now I'm curious to know how people in general would react to these things. I have no experience myself (obviously) and don't talk about sex with anyone, but at least in stories, characters (usually male) will overhear stuff and find it arousing.
As for talking about sex, I honestly find it interesting to overhear conversations. But it seems based on the experience I mentioned that my intrigue is largely detached from real life, and I would hate to overhear actual sex if the participants weren't consenting or aware. Or maybe context matters? Maybe I wouldn't mind if the people I was overhearing were friends of mine (who would not die of shame if they knew they'd been overheard) rather than random strangers? But who knows, it's all just guesswork lol
Based on the fact that I enjoy comics like this one, I always thought I wouldn't mind overhearing people having sex. But I'm pretty sure I did a few weeks ago and I just felt uncomfortable and kind of sad(?) because they probably didn't want people to overhear. To sum it up, it shouldn't be too shocking that the asexual is somewhat repulsed by the sounds of actual sex, but here we are
