It may seem like that but doesn't he js have violent tendencies? He didn't kill his gf bc he was secretly gay, he killer her bc of his uncontrollable violent nature.
He did beat up his friend especially when he was the one who called for help because he genuinely cannot control his anger, thus becoming violent like how he was raised with by his toxic household.
