I think you're really better off dropping this one. nakwon is one of the worst mfers out there and yes, he doesn't change in terms of personality or attitude except for his utter devotion towards mokhwa. The rapes doesn't actually get properly addressed between them but it is however heavily stressed on and emphasised that he has indeed "repented", still while I do enjoy this series, I'm not one to deny its many flaws. So if you're expecting a personality 180, this isn't for you. Bl unfortunately hasn't reached the level of proper healthy relationships yet

I've never denied his "suffering" though, it's why I like this series sm anyways. The thing is that, nakwon doesn't really change all that much- he's still a pretentious and obnoxious asshole, just not to mokhwa after he "repented", hell he continues to act like a jerk even towards mokhwa but that's just his personality and emotional constipation.
Additionally, I've read this manhwa 3 times now. The rape doesn't actually get addressed, both nakwon and mokhwa know but words of affirmation aren't exactly said. There is no confrontation, although it doesn't seem that way bc of how much they "speak" inwardly. There's so much thinking and less talking, but ig this was intended. Nakwon is a very well written character, he makes up for his past mistakes by giving gifts, that's his love language but he's still a rapist by the end of the day and what he did is still unforgivable.
That's why there are so many divided opinions on this bl. You, me and many others enjoy it bc we feel like the redemption feel real and worth it, precisely because he doesn't inherently change except for his total and utter devotion towards mokhwa but a lot of ppl also believe he's an irredeemable pos (which under normal and real life circumstances he is) and that's fine. We're all entitled to our own opinions on fiction, I don't tolerate rapists in fiction either but this manhwa is one of the very, very few which I consider the redemption arc done right.
