He was not dumb. He's grown up sheltered. And he's not even in his twenties yet to expect with that kind of upbringing he's going to be matured and have some logical thoughts. For the most part his decision making has always been emotional ones. Which makes sense because people do that a lot at his age. That's why his sister is worried, because he is in fact still young to be making a heavy choice that will be impacting his life.

He is dumb. Hands down. No amount of "sheltered" excuses will cover it. His sister going out and working, providing money for a roof over the head and food on the table? That's sheltered? What, she's supposed to ngaf about what her only family does?

You do not become pregnant at the age of 20 in this economy and think, yeah this will totally go fine. Everyone around the world knows there is a heavy stigma on teen parents, which the MC has just become.

MC is dumb. Straight up dumb.

Not arguing on the dumb part. He is dumb and very stupid. But it's also true that he is very sheltered, from his childhood till now. His sister and Minwoo baby him and get overprotective over little thing. So now he is dependent on others for every decision he makes and if he has to make one on his own, he makes very dumb decisions. This causes him unable to function properly in the society and even as adult, he makes childish decisions.

Sheltered children either turn out mc's type who think a blooming flower is the best thing in the world or selfish bratty people who think the world revolves around them. Although the latter type are also dumb it's just that their air-heads is overshadowed by their demanding nature.

But also he is just 18/19. He will have time to mature. I seen some dumbest person alive in their 40's and tantrum throwing people in their 30's. I think mc is not THAT horrible. Sure he is frustrating to read but it's not like he was born a dumb person, just a sheltered child who has not yet experienced life.
