they are NOT cousins, it's just honorifics being translated literally. best example i can think of is in korean manhwa where the translaters decide to put "brother" rather than "hyung" which means does technically mean older brother, but is also used respectfully by male to refer to any older male, but the way it's translated makes it sound incestuous. feel free to correct me if i'm wrong too btw, i don't speak the language (≧∇≦)
