Ian doesn't deserve Jo and TJ doesn't deserve Ian

I'm having a hard time with this ending
Ian doesn't deserve jo that's a heartbreaking moment and I actually like the chapter and how the author built the story around a choice Ian had to make

But TJ doesn't deserve Ian???? Like this man was so toxic, and even in the end I'm like bothered by everything they kinda are...
And I feel like we are forgetting what horrible things TJ did..

Idk I really hoped, it was just heartbreaks maybe, everyone separating from each other's so they could not be obsessed by someone and find someone where they can be themselves

My question to you is when has love ever been about what someone deserves? It’s not like anyone has ever been able to choose who they truly love. When someone knows you as perfectly as Ian and TJ know each other, meaning you can be nothing but your true self with them, and that person finally chooses you in the way you always hoped they would, why wouldn’t Ian choose that? Knowing who someone is and choosing them despite that, is the very definition of love. This decision is about Ian choosing his own path to happiness and he definitely deserves that.

Also, as ironically as it is since a lot of you guys dislike the obsessive aspect of these MLs, one of the things Ian loved about TJ from the start, was seeing that obsessive streak. He wanted to be wanted that way. When Jo exhibited the same streak, he compared it to the way TJ used to look at him and that’s what drew him to Jo as well. I think in a lot of ways, readers think about what feels right for themselves as people, rather than what feels right for the character portrayed on paper.

Totally respect your opinion. But sometimes it’s not about who deserves each other. It’s moreso, Jo deserves happiness, whatever that may be. And maybe that’s not with Ian.
I was teamTJ so I know it may seem biased.

    Exactly!!! (╯°Д °)╯╧╧

And thanks for saying it, Ian literally said he took pleasure in TJ’s obsession.
I am not saying this is healthy but it’s a FACT

I'm kinda not talking about what type of love each deserve, obviously I hoped they'll be happy but
I'm talking about TJ's mass killing, hurting, manipulating...
U can love, and not be blind idk
It wasn't a bit take, I just felt the author's writing and not the characters making their own choices idk if that makes sense?

But I guet what yall are saying

I never expect a story about gangsters being about them facing justice, honestly. I read it expecting and even hoping for them to get away with it. Otherwise, I’d read the story from a cop or a vigilante’s perspective (and I have plenty of those).

Also TJ didn’t go out of his way to kill innocent people. He killed the people who tried to kill him first. The sad part about that is there’s always collateral damage. And The fact that they didn’t try killing him because they wanted to take out the competition, but because he didn’t want to be married to the bride had me beyond annoyed. The way that shx was so ridiculous to me when the bride first asked her dad to kill TJ because he rejected her had me looking forward to TJ removing them from the board (I’m a sucker for gangster stories).

Lastly, TJ can only be with someone who actually understands that aspect of his life and that’s 100% Ian. The same notion applies with why Ian couldn’t be with Jo; he was more likely to turn Jo into someone capable of doing whatever it takes to survive (which is killing in this instance) than the opposite. And we saw that for ourselves. Even when Ian stated being complacent and someone had the drop on him because being with Jo dulled his senses, all I could see was the negative impact from that. It’s instinct fo Ian and TJ. The moment Ian knew TJ’s life was in danger back in season 2, he was willing to walk back in the gang, and rid the world of whoever threatened his life. It was the first time TJ actually went against his desire to keep Ian close in order to keep him safely away. He actually let him go in that moment. And now Ian and TJ are officially two former gangsters who thoroughly know each other and accept those parts of themselves and of each other. If anyone deserves anything, it’s being with someone who knows you that profoundly and chooses you anyway.
