Honestly I realized that Ian calling Jo to meet up in the first place might not be because he was going with Jo but his initial plan from the very start might have been to end things with Jo and leave on his own even if TJ hadn't stopped him. The only difference is that he probably intended to stayed alone away from everyone until TJ confess and told him how he gave up the organization. It’s like Ian’s trajectory stayed the same, but TJ’s confession obviously tweak it a bit. Now they have a chance to be together because what they want align
Months ago I said the same thing and I was crucified that I deleted the post but you've explained it so well better than I ever did. The way people exalt Jo like some Messiah sent down to save Ian is beyond me. Ian is a grown man who made his choices and will continue to make choices. His salvation was introspect not Jo.
I think about this a lot but also maybe from the start he was never meant to be a love interest... He was meant to be something that moved the plot and triggered TJ and Ian's character growth. I was hoping to see his character getting the development it deserved tho because he had so much potential to be an interesting character but let's see.
I don’t think it was necessary to give Jo more development if he was never going to be the endgame from the start. Jo represented something ordinary and normal, at least until he got involved with the gang and Jamie. From that moment on, he stopped being that different/comforting place for Ian, and their development basically came to a halt.
Having an opinion that isn’t just hating on TJ will get you a lot of downvotes sadly. I never read this manhwa focusing only on TJ or Jo. Thet can’t fully understand a story if they only look at it from one side, thay have to see the bigger picture.TJ was an asshole, but he was also heavily influenced in a bad way, and you could even say he was groomed by Jason. That’s why he’s so obsessed with the gang and believes he’d be nothing without it.
Me too. For example I would say Jo needs to focus on his own life he doesn't know Ian like that and not even negatively I'd be jumped and down voted. I literally meant it as someone who reads omnisciently without self inserting that I can't see all perspective. And it's absolutely true that the was a result of his environment and his behaviour wasn't just all on him. Even so it never meant he was undeserving of some grace. But if he didn't hold a candle to angel Jo that meant he deserved hell according to these fans.
THANK YOU i’ve been saying this since the beginning like i know ppl be saying Jo is boring but no it’s not like that it’s who tf is even Jo he just met him and got obsessed and he wanted him to run away with him like whaaaaat the story was mostly Ian TJ and the whole gang Jo was barely even a character and ppl just wanted to see them together for the whole healing thing okay but Ian can actually be with TJ and heal together and i’m betting my soul if he actually went with Jo it’s not gonna be rainbow and sunshine for long cuz he gonna wake up one day and realize he made a mistake

Something that bothers me is… why does Jo like Ian so much? He barely even knows him, he doesn’t know his past or what’s going on in his present. And the moment Ian showed Jo his true self, Jo called him broken and a coward. I think Jo likes the idea of saving Ian, but let’s be realistic, those two would have never worked out. They’re too different, and they barely know each other. They deserve someone who can understand them.
I also don’t understand the obsession with glorifying Jo so much. People want him to be some kind of white savior for Ian, but the only person who can save Ian is Ian himself. That’s also why Jo let him go, because he knows he doesn’t belong in Ian’s world. And I think the moment Ian truly decided to end things with Jo was when he was about to kill Jamie. I don’t think Ian would’ve gone with him anyway, he probably would’ve told him to break up even if TJ didn't showed up.
Jo doesn’t belong in Ian’s world, and the only person who can truly understand Ian is TJ. The two of them can change and finally have the life they’ve always wanted, but this time, away from the gang nada knowing how they feel about each other.
