Totally. It wasn't a fluffy, riding off into the sunset with the nice guy story. I really enjoyed it's complexities. Joe was lovely but wasn't featured enough to make him viable.
Ian and TJ shared a fractured and complex relationship over years. Both had their issues and both needed to go through it to come out the other side.
Doyak set up a story about escape. - Youngwoo managed to escape and motivated TJ to come away with him.
Doyak promised character growth. - Youngwoo has evolved; his back no longer seems small; he believes he deserves love and, in turn, can give love.
Doyak framed a love triangle as meaningful choice. - She did not in fact abandon that choice, she wanted Youngwoo to freely and bravely make that choice. And that choice is TJ.
WetSand is not a sanitised love story written moralise about the perfect romance. It is a story about how flawed people who, despite everything, still tries to find their version of happiness
