He is saying “you can’t be my Gi Hyeon, this has to be a dream” because he’s been in love with his friend forever but doesn’t think he loves him back because of all the fucked up stuff his fucking fucked up dad has taught him. He doesn’t “suddenly like him cuz he’s an omega now” he is drunk and affected by pheromones and thinks it’s so unlikely that his friend would like him back to the point his brain is convinced it’s a dream, BECAUSE HE DREAMS OF FUCKING AND LOVING HIM. They both are in love with each other and each convinced the other is not, and they’re the only one who is getting something out of the relationship. Hence why blondie is so jealous all the time because he thinks he will be left behind once Gi Hyeon finds a beta woman he likes.
So many are commenting like “he never tried having sex so he doesn’t actually love him cuz he’s would have done it before” but the fear of losing a friend is so real, and you’d honestly have been pissed if he didn’t ask for consent either. Now he is doubly drunk/incapacitated and acting on his true feelings in a vulnerable state, but readers are taking the MC/narrator’s opinion at face value when he is literally an unreliable narrator and we are just given his own opinions and insecurities of what blondie is saying and acting towards him. The actual truth lies between them.
