Recommendations

before i give recs. what is considered “too much smt” to you.

I took a look at what you've already been reading (to rule out recommendations). Give 'Happy together' a try if you haven't yet! No smut so far and it is very plot driven.
Another good one is 'Global examination', it has a novel and I'd definitely recommend reading the novel first.

Both of these are ongoing btw.

'Dreadful night' is another bl that is heavy on the plot and very fun + interesting to read. It has a decent amount of smut, though I won't say it's off putting.

the pizza delivery man and gold palace. the story is good, (peak was S1) ,and the smut is good too, but it all adds to the story and there's not too much smut js for the sake of it. if u don't like smut u can read shonen ai genre. i rec "murderous llewellyn's enchanting dinner invitation"

I've read 134 chapters in two days, it is one of the best stories I've read since I start reading manwhas. It has a really solid plot

The story is placed in ancient Korea with all its myths and legends, so there are gods, demons, magic, etc. The mc is a blind sage, he lives secluded and per chance he helps a creature, this will take a human child form. They live together and roam through different places solving cases/missions while at the same time lots of info from their past is unfolded. I don't want to spoil you with many details, but it is really good give it a try!

I don’t know if this is a good explanation but unnecessary smut. Like jinx, red string, dog and bird, things of that nature like they’re just having sex for any reason

there's not much sex in hate mate & it's all drama driven and about the story progression (& is one of the more unique bl dramas imo). Love history caused by willful negligence is a great psychological romance & the first part has literally zero sex and basically no romance, it's pure plot & establishing the feels. They fuck a lot in the second half, but it serves plot purpose & never felt like we were getting a sex scene just bc.

That's very much understandable lol. I've felt the same about it. If you like plot heavy works then you will probably enjoy Global Examination a lot ^-^ Have fun reading the novel!
