I think people use that out of habit, cause social media flags the word rape and then people got used to using the censored version
Yeah, I understand, but mangago isn’t like that. The only shit that gets flagged is the L*zhin word. Unlike the people who censor certain words when raising awareness about atrocities going on to avoid being censored by social media algorithms, IMO, a lot of people on mangago just choose to self-censor because they think it’s a “dirty word”
I personally think that if you use “grape” or the grape emoji to reference the sexual violence in this story then you have no leg to stand on to accuse people of trivializing rape.
