I can understand both perspective honestly. Someone should have told her a while ago but not right at the beginning because her health was terrible and someone who is blaming themselves and depressed (like she would have been after finding out what happened) would have a much harder time to recover from their injuries. Or she could have gotten even worse and died because of grief.
