A quick recap would be that Coco is a girl that lives with her mother but accidentally turns her to stone with magic so a witch master takes her with him to train her as a witch, as it turns out Magic can be taught and written (which is a huge secret only the witches know).
Her main goal was to break her mother's spell. But we mostly see how she makes friends amongst the other witches, facing the followers of forbidden magic and ethical conflict, fighting against a great peril (that arc took literal years) and we get to see the backstory of her teachers' too.
