I am surprised with everyone's surprise in the realisation of what comes next.
We know they play a couple in the film from the very first moment they took the roles, so having a kissing scene is not even the worst case scenario frankly... Personally I was disturbed from the first moment about it and for me it was just a matter of time for things to get worse.
This manga/anime became a hit partly thanks to shock value. And I don't think they will miss a chance to make another shocking scene for the sake of "the plot" but in reality pushing the limits of the audience.
Unless they rickroll us and use some of the acting techniques to have a kiss scene without a kiss. It's actually possible, let's hope they will use it.
But with Ruby being a bro-con like this and Aqua having also a complex concerning her, I don't know how much hope there is...
Well, at least they did point out a valid issue about the industry pointing out its fault in this chapter. That's something.
Ah....while overall this manga and anime have been brilliant, there was also a big flaw that bothered me from the beginning...the strong introverted intuition of it focusing on one path the author wants to take things, brings as a result a tunnel vision that causes so many logical errors and unrealistic situations that we have to accept as a status quo, but in reality things wouldn't take that turn. Characters wouldn't do the most convenient thing for the plot without any logic behind it.
In this case, Ruby wouldn't have an existential conversation with a stranger in the age of her father and the exact looks of her brother without having a clue of his identity, nor she would be so conveniently saved, nor he would appear to give up, after phrasing Aqua's plan with the exact same wording as he did, then leave a "promising" statement for the end.
I also think it's obvious by now that the author wants to wrap this up, we already know that, as they work on a new project, but this affects the quality of the latest months' chapters...many fillers, anticlimactic turn of events, even the shock value scenes weren't that powerful frankly...
It's not bad, but...something is missing.
