i only just realized this recently myself lol and it makes the ending all the more satisfying
stories that have slow character development that truly makes us mad feels the most realistic

No l, I actually like this better. I hate when stories show characters doing a complete 180 just because they fell in love. That means they’re just putting on a show and being fake. I’d rather see something like this, so you can tell he’s still showing his true personality, and if he improves, he’s genuinely improving and not just faking it.
