Thank you for relaying your experience and thoughts on this manga. I've never experienced csa, so I appreciate that you can come out and express your own thoughts on it. To be honest, I think for mangas and stories that depict rape especially csa, it's often looked down upon because it shows the background beyond their crimes. And I think that's unfortunate because while it is a horrible crime, people often overlook the cycle of abuse behind it and diminish it to "they're not human" which I think just absolves the person from both guilt and responsibility. Simultaneously, it can place the blame on victims while ignoring the root cause of the cycle and in turn, only reinforce this cycle of abuse and rape. (Please correct me if I'm wrong, since this is all just what I've seen from the outside.)
That is all to say that, thank you for expressing what you think because I think your voice matters especially when these topics are discussed. Because again, people often overlook these themes because they're so ingrained in their rigid morality that they actually refuse to acknowledge any potential nuance.
I probably sound really weird, but I'm just tired of people disregarding media that don't reflect their own experience simply because they don't understand it.

i really like this manga! I see there’s a lot of people who didn’t enjoy it in the comments which is understandable, I’m still conflicted on my opinion of the explicit csa scene.
It definitely wasn’t necessary!
As someone who has experienced incestuous csa w my own father idk if I’d consider the author a pedo for being able to depict that scene. Depiction of rape for shock value is sick, but i also feel that the scene being depicted shows the harsh actuality of experiencing csa.
A lot of ppl who haven’t experienced anything like that get to bask in the comfort of not being aware of what it’s like. Which is great ofc! But i do also feel like detailed depictions of csa are necessary to understand the harsh actuality of csa. I do feel that it’s best to describe the experience in detail, rather than to draw the scene in detail if that makes sense.
Like there’s no need to draw a csa scene, but also leaving csa as something implied does not always capture the gravity of it.
The author should’ve just allowed the priest to describe what happened or heavily censored the scene that they drew.
I understand the importance of the scene bc it was meant to explain the priests warped perception of love but there’s just so many better ways to go about it.
Onto to the rest of the story, i found it to be very intriguing! Personally the author left me very conflicted on how i felt about the priest. I saw someone say that the point of this story was to victimize the priest or some shit bc he had a tragic past, but i genuinely feel like some people lack critical thinking skills. His past explains who he is, it doesn’t override his current actions. I also feel like a lot of people don’t want to be able to empathize with someone that they view as bad, and they villainize their own empathy and view as a moral failing bc of who they’re empathizing with.
I was very conflicted on how to feel about the priest after finding out his past. After all, he wasn’t even a pedophile. It wasn’t his fault that he was the way he was, and i think he could’ve even been classified as mentally ill or at least heavily manipulated during what he did to the child. Which is arises the question of how mentally ill people should be handled after committing a crime and the deity of the crime? I’m glad he was arrested, I’m not sure about how i feel abt how him being killed or being able to fall in love. But i do feel like the ending was very fitting.
This stories themes and such… (csm reference), heavily rely on forgiveness regarding the cycle of trauma. I love works that make me question my own morale, and i think this one did a great job at that
