I'm not defending Jaekyung, but if he had completely changed his personality in this relatively short period, people would be complaining about it being unrealistic and still not forgiving him. Now he's changed his mindset and he's trying to do better, but his bad side is coming out again during a very stressful situation... Which is completely understandable. People wanted him to instantly mature 10+ years in a few months, come on.
Let's see how he decides to act after this, there must be a confession somewhere in there.
