I would say no more than four or five chapters
The dad does get karma! Riftan will walk in while he's whipping Maxi and he'll beat him half to death. The duke will end up with a permanent stutter and will live in fear of Riftan coming back to finish him off

It rather has a faster pace than novel , so I'm hoping within 3 - 5 more chapters till riftan finds out about the abuse

We’re getting close. When Riftan sees he nearly beats her father to death but then her father presses legal action against Riftan and he’s about to lose everything from his position to his land to accolades but then Maxi finds out through the princess that if she joins the mages tower and leaves they’ll defend Riftan and her by investigating her abuse because mages are a protected class . This means Maxi will leave for the mages tower and Riftan is not pleased about this and says he won’t “wait for her” if she leaves. She decides to leave anyway but then he admits that he will wait.

When she comes back he gives her the silent treatment and ignores her (aside from sex). He apologizes near the end.

It's depressing that her being a mage would protect her. but not her as as herself being a person is. It's reality for a lot of women irl as well

It seems like they only have sexual tension, and that's it.
Even Ruth and Maxi seem to have better chemistry! (And they're just friends!)
If it really ends like this without much more, I'm going to be very disappointed.

It felt kind of consensual in a way since they were both just fulfilling their marital duty, but I get your point. Ignorance isn’t an excuse for hurting someone, since he should have stopped when she told him too

W. O. W. I thought people were being a bit dramatic about Riftan being an asshole, but I'm seeing more and more reasons why that might be true. That is so disappointing that he gives her the silent treatment like a child, especially after everything she's been through :/
