Erm what?

Erm what? So let me get this straighttt. ML has a background of being bullied by his older brother, MC had a great start with him and (probably) so on with like treating him well, THEN rejects being officially his personal guide, and MC still wonders why MLs point of obsession is him. Is this part of the plot or an enjoyment bait, I've been seeing this pattern in almost everything I ready ESPECIALLY at around the time where MC is highly indenial with their feelings with ML (viceversa).

It seems like the original guide is the one who “saved” the ML. The mc regained all of “his” memories when he touched the ML. It scared him and that’s when he rejected it. I think if he hadn’t rejected it, got along with the ML and used him for money then it would have followed the og plot. But because he rejected it it’s now switched but he’s too dumb to realise that.

Defff, it's usually one of the characters being blind/shallow to the point that you'd think the novel is originally teen fiction, but usually that kind of personality you get from characters in teen fiction are quirky. This one looks like they're just dragging the story too much that it's starting to become annoying (for me personally).

The ML’s heartlessness stems from a traumatic childhood. It went far beyond simple bullying; they put him through something much worse. His past is honestly devastating.

It isn't an excuse for murder, but it clarifies why he’s so guarded against being used.
