Same, I thought that both the duke and the prince have the same mother because the former duchess was dragged ayaw by the emperor, after giving birth to the current duke, cuz he liked her beauty. Which lead to her giving birth to the current prince. And the current empress became empress after the duchess committed su****e because of guilt.

The Emperor fell for her too and basically kidnapped her and rpd her after sending the Duke to war. The ML was born, at the same time the Empress was also pregnant so both women gave birth around the same time. His mom was tormented, bullied and harassed in the palace until she offed herself.
The Duke came back and took the ML as his son.
Ml loved his mother, respected his stepfather (the duke), despises his biological father (the emperor)
