Maybe so, but artists you like aren’t always going to make stuff that’s palatable to you. Sometimes you just have to live with the disappointment and move on, because there are so many artists out there. A lot of the people bellyaching about how Lee Geumsan has drawn for fucked up stories don’t realize that she’s playing to the market. If wholesome nsfw stories were more profitable, she’d probably do them more. But she found a successful niche being an extremely competent artist in a genre that’s largely slop, I respect her for it.
great, that’s your opinion. i think it’s a waste to dedicate top-notch art skills to, as you said, a slop genre. may be financially prosperous, but still a waste. it can’t be denied that it’s immensely disappointing for a general audience when an artist takes the easy route of shock factor to get reach, so complaints are expected. might’ve actually been less let down if this artist did it out of their own volition and love for torture porn; would’ve been much easier to just condemn the artist’s character. but there’s nothing respectable to me for artists who contribute to repetitive, comic equivalent of “video nasty” sludge that genuinely add no true value to the yaoi genre as a whole, which continues to be reduced to purely nasty fetish content when stories like these make it to mainstream media in all its torture porn glory. but that’s just me.
i fully welcome you to make that comment then. it’s the internet with free-for-all discussion which is a beautiful thing. if you haven’t already, i advise you to buy the original chapters on bomtoon if you’d like the artist to receive your support directly. it may encourage them to keep going down the path of this genre like you want as well, which is a positive for you.

i like to imagine this artist waking up in the morning, doing a brief stretch, brewing up a cup of coffee, and settling neatly at their desk, all perked up and ready to live another day wasting their art skills away
