too be clear, the reverend is still a shady rapist and somehow involved in drug trafficking, so hate away. I've just been watching a lot of serial killer shows.

just re read it and ur so right. i think that definitely is whats happening. but i think he knows the reverand raped him fr, but he cant let anything happen to him tho because of his obsession
That's a possibility but considering the pain in his body and ass after all that when the drug's effect wore of, he probably knew that he was raped, but I don't why he doesn't want to confront the priest.
ok, theorising. Was the reverend really there? Like what if Manny is having a manic episode, which is kinda the reason he's now a serial killer, and hallucinating the reverend? if you look at the panels the reverend is only there when we get a close up of Manny and in those panels the reverend is right behind him, but then there's a panel from "didi's perspective" (the one at an angle) and there's no reverend.
If he's mildly aware that he's hallucinating the reverend, he might have thought he hallucinated the rape too. which is why he was so wishy washy with Sean.
