Tbf most women entered the harem for political reasons... and the emperor showing favor to them was more to appease the families than for love or lust. That's also why the women gave so much importance to bearing children, especially boys, to solidify their positions and their family support. Noo I understand how harem works haha. I'm just saying that I hate the emperor. Yes he doesn't love any of his women, but ofc loves his children. The reason why I mentioned the emperor only being horny and cared only about looks cuz he wouldn't care about MC's mother if she wasn't pretty or behaved well, look at the other lady who's face is now scarred ;-;
