i’m only two chapters in. it it’s not /quite/ pseudo incest. not much better tho. mc save ml when he was like 11 years old from an abusive family and put him in the care of another foster fam. he is NOT his parent, nor does he want to be but he was an adult who took care of ml as a kid. when they meet in the future mc doesn’t recognize ml bc he has face blindness and i think they’re using that the “make it ok” or something bc he can’t really mentally connect the man he sees now with the kid he once saved. he does KNOW its him and that it’s not right tho which is why he was having that mental convo about pushing him away and why he brought up parent vs partner, saying he was closer to a parental figure than a romantic partner. the ml - the kid - doesn’t view mc as his parent either, he views him as his savior (and probably his obsession). he been trying to get with him in any way shape or form since he was saved by him. as a kid he probably would’ve appreciated him as a parent but that was immediately denied so he likely spent the next ten years ruminating over other ways tennessee (mc) could be in his life and he settled on “lover”. so neither of them view each other as parent or child and they have no parental connection either besides mc checking up on ml a few times via email, but the circumstances of how they met would usually lead to a parent-child dynamic instead of a romantic one which is why it came up in the first chapter.
i’m not sure if i’ll keep reading either tho lol i’m not into “mentor/parental figure x child who has since grown up” pairings for what i think are obvious reasons. i think they are trying to make it less ummm gross and problematic/add more nuance with them not maintaining contact while they were apart and obvi the face blindness thing but idk if its enough to justify whipping out ur dick like that for someone u knew when they were 10 and you were 30 to suck on… the art is really damn good tho and i read a later ch and liked their dynamic then (before i saw the backstory lol) which is why i’ve even gotten this far into it, but still not sure if i can turn my brain off enough to stick it out lmaoo. we’ll see ╮(￣▽￣)╭
